9 Facts about the Miami Dolphins

ORLANDO, Fla. — 1. The Miami Dolphins were founded in 1966 by attorney/politician Joe Robbie and actor Danny Thomas.

2.  Quarterback Dan Marino spent 17 seasons with the Dolphins, from 1983-1999.

3. Wide receiver Griff Whalen is a vegan, telling Andy Cohen he is leaner, stronger and faster.

4. Don Shula coached the Dolphins to two Super Bowl victories in 1972 and 1973.  They went undefeated in the 1972 season.

5. Signing a contract worth in excess of $114 million in 2015, Miami defensive tackle Ndamukong (meaning "house of spears") Suh became the highest paid defensive player in the history of football. He also has a construction management degree from the University of Nebraska.

6. There are more than 30 "Finatic" websites recognized by the Dolphins.

Starting September 11, the Miami Dolphins Coaches Show will air every Sunday on WRDQ/TV 27  from 11:00-11:30 a.m. during football season.

In addition, the Dolphins Weekly show airs on Antenna TV every Sunday (through December) from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
