Orlando City to sign defender Dionatan Teixeira

The Stoke City - Orlando City partnership, that was announced earlier this month, is already bearing fruit for the Lions. Sources told Channel 9's Christian Bruey that the team is in the process of signing defender Dionatan Teixeira. He will not be able to compete with Orlando City until the summer transfer window opens on July 4th.

The Brazilian-born defender has spent the past week on trial with Orlando City. He signed with Stoke City in 2014, but has only appeared in two matches for the Potters.

Teixeira will fill an area of need for the Lions. Seb Hines is currently nursing a knee injury and the team recently traded center back Aurelien Collin to the New York Red Bulls.
