Troopers: Car fire blocks southbound I-95 in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A car fire blocked southbound lanes of Interstate 95 Thursday morning in Volusia County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fire was reported shortly before 7:45 a.m. near mile marker 235 south of Oak Hill, troopers said.

Investigators said vehicles were using the shoulder of the road to pass the crash scene.

Volusia County firefighters were able to extinguish the flames.

It's unknown if anyone was injured in the fire.

The road has since been reopened.
