Hurricane Irma washes out portion of West Orange Trail

APOPKA, Fla. — The damage from Hurricane Irma is being felt days after it hit Central Florida Sunday night into Monday morning.

The strong winds and rain washed out a portion of the West Orange Trail behind Apopka Middle School.

The hole was discovered Wednesday north of Votaw Road and south of McCoy Village Court, city officials said.

Residents have been told to stay away from the area.
