Rain forecast threatens to re-flood areas of Seminole County put underwater by Hurricane Irma

People living along flooded lakes in Seminole County were keeping their eyes on the sky Friday as heavy rain was forecast for the area around the St. John’s River where the water just receded after Hurricane Irma.
Lake Jesup and Lake Harney both caused problems when Irma dumped rain on the area, causing water to spill over the banks.
Ten days ago, Channel 9 reporter Jeff Levkulich was in the neighborhood around Lake Jesup, where residents said the water has been going down slowly.
“Actually, it’s a little bit lower, thank goodness, because, actually, as the wind was blowing, the water would break on the concrete and kind of wet the concrete a little bit,” resident Allison Gray said. “But other than that, it never came past the grass.”
With up to five inches of rain possible in parts of Central Florida, especially along the coast, Allison was concerned the water would rise again.
“Any time I see rain clouds, I think, ‘Oh no, we have come so far. I don’t’ want to go back again,’” she said. “But I’ll take it. Whatever comes, it comes. We can’t stop it.”
Resident Dan Grasso told Channel 9 that his back porch was dry Friday morning, but by the afternoon it was underwater as Lake Jesup kept getting closer.
"Yeah, we're worried about it coming in and then coming up," he said.
With several inches of rain expected in the area over the weekend, Grasso worried that his home could be damaged.
"Well, I hate to say it, but I'm afraid it's going to come in the house," he said
