Fog might make Wednesday morning's commute hazardous in spots

During the entire month of November, Orlando only received 0.06 inches of rain. It almost became the driest November on record, if those rogue showers would not have fallen over Orlando International Airport (the official reporting station) on Nov. 30.

"Since the rainy season ended, today was the first time most neighborhoods heard thunder," Channel 9 certified meteorologist George Waldenberger said.

In fact, we have not received substantial rain since Hurricane Matthew battered the region on October 7.

"We are so overdue for rainfall, I am just hoping we don't have to wait another week, or two, for more," chief certified meteorologist Tom Terry said.

The front will clear Central Florida Tuesday night, and as the winds diminish, some dense patchy fog is likely to develop after midnight. Models are showing visibility reduced to 0 miles around sunrise Wednesday. This could affect Wednesday morning's commute. Low temperatures will be cool, from 58 to 61 degrees.

Humidity will remain comfortably low Wednesday afternoon with highs around the mid-70s under partly sunny skies.

Certified meteorologist Brian Shields said will track the dense patches of fog and the cool start to Wednesday, starting at 5 a.m. on Eyewitness News This Morning.
