Lake swells at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The lake at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs swelled Friday afternoon after Hurricane Matthew pounded Central Florida with blinding rains and relentless wind.

The park's raised walkways that typically trace the shores of Cranes Roost Lake were submerged by the swollen lake.

The lake's water level rose to the park's stage and outdoor amphitheater, which serves as the centerpiece of the park's annual Red, Hot & Boom concert series and festival each July.

In recent months, the park has become popular with "Pokémon GO" players, none of whom were seen at the park Friday.

Seminole County lifted its county-wide curfew Friday afternoon, but the park remains closed.
