COCOA, Fla. — Two men were hit and killed by a driver in Cocoa late Sunday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to Brevard County Fire Rescue, the accident occurred around 8:52 p.m. on W. King St. in Cocoa.
Officials said the two men from California were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
S.R. 520 westbound was closed near I-95 due to the crash, but has since reopened.
"It's hard. It's hard to see two people lose their lives like that. It's been a gruesome scene," said an official.
The driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
State troopers said the victims, ages 26 and 49, were not in a crosswalk.
