Cocoa cops: 1 arrested, 2 injured after shooting; several weapons found

COCOA, Fla. — Cocoa police said one person was arrested after two people were shot near an apartment complex Monday.

One person was shot in the abdomen and airlifted to the hospital. The second person was located shortly before 5 p.m. with a bullet graze, police said. He did not have to go to the hospital.

Police got calls of shots fired at Dixon Boulevard and Amherst Court around an hour after the initial call.

Police said they were able to recover several weapons and are trying to find out if they are related to the crime.

Witnesses told police they had last seen several males running from the area and had seen a possible suspect enter one of the apartments.

Three people had originally been detained.

Police and deputies were on scene.

Cocoa police said the investigation is ongoing.
