Dyer showcases new plaza deck at Citrus Bowl

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer showcased the newly completed plaza deck at the Citrus Bowl stadium Wednesday.

The deck will give fans with any ticket price a prime view of the field.

City officials have been giving tours regularly, and Wednesday they were showing of the giant deck area that sits above the northern end zone.

The new viewing plaza will be the grand entryway to the redesigned stadium.

About 650 employees are working to have the renovations to the stadium ready for football in late November.

"The deck itself is 20,000 square feet, so, that will accommodate about 3,000 people. I hope people go to their seats and don't just stay here at the plaza deck all the time, but it's a beautiful view. You can see the entire stadium, but you can also see the lake," Dyer said.

Officials say the project is helping put many struggling citizens to work.
