ORLANDO, Fla. — One thing that hasn’t stopped during the pandemic is work on the roads, especially on State Road 408. But as traffic picks up as more businesses begin to reopen, there are are few things that may have change don the roads since your last commute.

Here’s the latest updates on what to look out for the roads:

The State Road 408 eastbound exit onto Orange Avenue will be closed for the next six months.

  • Florida Department of Transportation crews said it is necessary to allow crews to demolish the current exit ramp to build a new one to accommodate a wider eastbound 408.
  • To make up for the inconvenience, the tolls will be suspended at the east 408 exit to Mills Avenue.
  • The U-turn on Mills Avenue directly underneath the 408 will allow drivers to use South Street to get into downtown Orlando.
  • Keep in mind this temporary U-turn is not wide enough for truck drivers.
  • Truck drivers must avoid the U-turn at Mills Avenue at all costs and instead take Orange Blossom Trail.
  • FDOT crews also said there may be additional overnight ramp closures to continue the work at the 408, Interstate 4 interchange.
