ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reached another grim milestone Monday in the coronavirus pandemic.
State heath officials reported 77 additional COVID-19-related deaths, pushing Florida’s death toll past 6,000.
To date, The Florida Department of Health reports a total of 6,049 deaths linked to coronavirus.
Health officials also recorded another 8,892 positive test results, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 432,747, according to Monday’s data.

The recently reported deaths involved 22 Central Florida residents, including nine in Lake County, three in Polk County, two each in Seminole, Osceola and Sumter counties and one each in Orange, Marion, Volusia and Brevard counties.
Since testing began, The Florida Department of Health has reported 2,998,750 negative COVID-19 test results, including the additional 76,884 that were noted in Monday’s data.
