EDGEWATER, Fla. — Four more people have been arrested in connection with the theft of firearms from a car in Edgewater earlier this month, including the father of a teen already charged in the case, Edgewater police said on Thursday.
Police said Craig Harris, 50, the father of Nicholas Harris, was arrested and charged with "accessory after the fact for providing transportation of the offenders and firearms from the location of the burglary."
Nicholas Harris, 17, was arrested, along with Matthew Pogg, 18, on March 14 and charged in connection to the theft of five guns from a car on Sabal Palm Drive in Edgewater.
Following the arrests of Nicholas Harris and Pogg, police said they recovered four of the five stolen guns.
According to police, during the theft one of the guns was fired and a bullet nearly hit a woman in a nearby home.
On Thursday, police said the fifth gun, a .45 caliber handgun was found along with an unrelated 9mm handgun with altered serial numbers, buried in the backyard of Trent Gilley. They said the handgun was used to fire the shot that nearly hit the woman in her home on Kumquat Drive.
Police said Gilley, 19, and a 16-year-old female juvenile were arrested and charged with dealing in stolen property.
Police said they also arrested Linda Brislin, 50, a friend of Nicholas Harris and charged her with "dealing in stolen property for facilitating the transfer of the stolen firearms."
Police said Pogg and Nicholas Harris, each charged with armed burglary of a conveyance, burglary of a conveyance and five counts of grand theft of a firearm, are facing additional charges.
