Orlando Ballet is searching for a four-legged friend to fill the canine role in its production of “The Great Gatsby.”

The ballet said it is looking for “one small, special canine with star power” for the role of Fido in its production, which premieres this month.

The dog will not be commanded to sit, roll over or speak, but must be comfortable in the arms of a lovely ballet dancer, Orlando Ballet said.

The dogs must be no more than 10 pounds, be well-behaved, comfortable with noise and lights and being carried by others and be up-to-date on all its vaccines.

Submissions will be accepted through Tuesday at midnight. To audition your pooch, submit photos or videos on Facebook or Instagram, tagging @orlandoballet and using the hashtag #doggydebut.

Orlando Ballet will announce the finalists on Wednesday, and live “in-puppy” auditions will take place Friday at Harriett’s Orlando Ballet Centre.

The winning dog’s family will be awarded two tickets to the performance to see their dog’s stage debut.

“I’m so excited to present Gatsby during my first season as artistic director with Orlando Ballet, and having a little fun with the production makes it even more special,” artistic director Jorden Morris said in a news release. “Auditions are always interesting; this will surely be that.”
