Melbourne man arrested as agents seize AK-47, AR-15 from home

MELBOURNE, Fla. — Authorities are being tight-lipped after arresting a Melbourne man and removing an AK-47 and AR-15 from the home he shared with his wife and young child.

Agents said they raided Julian Roland's home early Monday morning, removing the assault-style weapons, along with another rifle and a bag containing handguns, Channel 9's Kathi Belich learned.

Authorities said the guns were properly secured inside the home, but investigators on the scene would not say what charges Roland might face.

Neighbors who spoke with Channel 9 said they were shocked to learn of the arrest.

The suspect's wife told WFTV she doesn't know why her husband was arrested and said she was contacting a lawyer.

Roland's bond was set at $2,000.
