ORLANDO, Fla. — A "sleep out" fundraiser to help the homeless has paid off in Orlando.
Last week a group of central Florida executives slept outside on cardboard to raise money and awareness for homeless teens as part of a nationwide effort.
Hundreds across the country did the same thing.
More than 50 people are on a waiting list for the shelter that had to downsize because of a lack of funding.
Now, officials at Covenant House said they were able to open up more rooms and add 12 beds because of the fundraiser.
