ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A science teacher facing six charges for allegedly having sex with a student is now out of jail.
Ethan Hickey taught at Edgewater High School for three years and lives about a half mile away from the school.

The 14-year-old accuser told police she had sexual relations with Hickey 10 to 15 times in three months. Police said her cellphone had evidence to prove it.
Channel 9’s Janine Reyes went back to the teacher’s home Saturday and found a note that appears to be from students who are supporting Hickey, despite the allegations.
Hickey, an Ivy League graduate and star athlete, is engaged to be married, but the couple’s wedding website was removed and Hickey’s fiancé no longer has her name beside his on the mailbox.
Reyes found a handwritten note on the mailbox with two sets of initials.
One said, “We know you didn’t do it,” and the other, “We’re rooting for you.”
It’s quite a different message from what some people, who appear to be students, are posting on social media.
One girl tweeted, “Saw this coming a long time ago.”
Another apparent student said, “All the girls love him and now it all makes sense."
Hickey is on leave with pay while the district wraps up an internal investigation.
He was arrested Thursday and bonded out of jail Friday night.
