Majority of Deltona home destroyed by fire

DELTONA, Fla. — Firefighters are battling a house fire in Deltona.

Channel 9 is working to confirm the details of what caused the fire and if anyone was injured.

Here’s what we know so far:

  • Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said the fire began before 1:40 p.m. at the home on Lodge Terrace.
  • Firefighters said the fire was through the roof when they arrived on scene.
  • Officials said two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion on the scene and have recovered. One person who was inside the home was transported to a local hospital, but their injuries are so far unknown.
  • Officials said it took firefighters 30 minutes to get the fire under control.
  • The house is 75% destroyed.
  • Officials said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and that the fire marshal is investigating.
