Winter Springs HS teacher accused of inappropriate touching, texting

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. — A Winter Springs High School teacher is under investigation after several students complained about his behavior.

District officials told Channel 9 they immediately pulled Brett Mulock, a math teacher, after receiving a complaint.

Mulock has been away from the classroom since October when a student filed a police report alleging inappropriate touching.

There was also a complaint that he picked a student up and slung her over his shoulder, holding the upper part of her legs.

While students said most of what Mulock did seemed innocent, the police report states he was also known to "text females in his class regularly," and have contact with them outside school.

The school district said at least one of the text messages was sexual in nature and it has received at least three complaints about inappropriate contact by Mulock.

The district confirmed with Channel 9 that it will recommend firing him.

But some students have defended Mulock, calling him a good teacher.

"He was a good guy. He was funny," said student Rachel Chorak. "He would tell us stories in class. He was really good with the class."

The Winter Springs Police Department is also investigating, and Mulock's cellphone records have been subpoenaed.
