Toyota and BMW are cranking out a new sports car!

Will the next new Toyota in Orlando be a super-slick sports car?

  • A concept of this impressive new Toyota will be released at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, which is slated to take place next month.
  • It may be the successor to the popular Toyota Supra, which would undoubtedly please quite a few sports car enthusiasts!
  • Some in the automotive industry feel that this new Toyota in Orlando will resemble the FT-HS concept sports car, which was a hybrid concept released back in 2007. It's pretty stylish, so we certainly hope this rumor has a little truth behind it!
  • This new Toyota was almost a Lexus – making it the successor to the much-loved Lexus SC convertible was up in the air for a while, but we think that rumor has been put to bed and a Toyota concept will be released instead.
  • Toyota and BMW will be working on a joint platform, but will each release their own version of the sports car (kind of like Scion and Subaru did with the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ).

Which new Toyota or new Scion in Orlando will it resemble?

  • Make it like the Toyota 2000GT – this iconic sports car was the basis of many later Toyota sports cars, and it's been deemed one of the coolest cars around. (Bond drove it – do you need much more than that?)
  • You could also have it resemble the Toyota Celica – we STILL get Orlando Toyota customers who wish it would be brought back into production after its 20+ year reign.
