BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A bus broke out in flames Sunday afternoon near Cape Canaveral, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the fire happened around 12:04 p.m. on State Road 528, near mile marker 40 in Cocoa.
The fire shut down the eastbound lane of SR 528.

According to a news release, the driver was not on the bus when it caught fire and was not harmed.
Officials said the bus had no other passengers.
FHP said the fire remains under investigation.
