Regina Hill: 'I felt like Debra was smiling down from heaven'

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill briefly spoke about the arrest of accused cop killer Markeith Loyd during a news conference Tuesday evening.

Hill was a close friend of Orlando police Master Sgt. Debra Clayton.

Clayton also served as Hill’s police liaison.

"I was happy, I was ecstatic to know that our law enforcement had been working diligently 24 hours a day to bring this guy to justice," Hill said.

“She was a sister," Hill added. "She was a friend. She was a community servant."

Hill praised law enforcement officers for not giving up until Loyd was caught.

“I felt like Debra was smiling down from heaven, knowing that her brothers and sisters in blue brought her killer to justice," Hill said.
