Woman sought restaining order against ex-boyfriend accused of killing her

AZALEA PARK, Fla. — A 45-year-old woman asked for a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend who deputies say shot and killed her Friday, court records show.

Manuel Feliciano is accused of fatally shooting the 45-year-old mother of two outside her Azalea Park home. Deputies said the two were previously in a relationship.

The victim’s ex-husband told Channel 9 her identity is Mary Barreda.

A month ago, court records show, Barreda asked a judge to issue a restraining order against Feliciano, her accused killer, but it was never granted.

Her ex-husband said two days before her murder, Barreda dropped off her kids with him to attempt to petition the court for another injunction.

The woman’s 7-year-old daughter called 911 shortly before 5:30 p.m. Friday after finding her mother’s body near the driveway of their home on Yucatan Drive near North Semoran Boulevard and Lake Underhill Road, Capt. Angelo Nieves said.

Feliciano is still in critical condition in the hospital, but deputies said in the custody of Orange County Corrections.
