ORANGE COUNTY,Fla. — At Grandeville on Avalon Park Apartment complex, 20 to 40 residents woke up Sunday to find their cars had been towed right out of their parking spaces.
Cambridge Management Company apparently sent out a letter in March about new parking rules.
The letter said that all residents needed to have a parking decal or they'd be towed.
But some residents are claiming they never got the letter.
"I really didn't know about it until my car was being towed" said resident Dawn Phillips.
Phillips says she woke up in the middle of night when she heard the tow truck.
She paid the driver $60 not to take her SUV.
Resident Chip Farley didn't catch the tow truck, however, and had to pay $125 to get his car back from the towing company.
"I think they're trying to cut out a lot of the parking problems that come from outside traffic and visitors, but they ended up disrupting a lot of residents here" said Farley.
Eyewitness News tried talking to one of the apartment mangers but he wouldn't provide any answers.
Over the weekend, Grandeville residents had to sign an addendum to their lease explaining the new parking regulations.
