Car Ironically Crashes Into Chiropractor's Office

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A car crashed into a Volusia County chiropractor's office Tuesday, who specializes in helping victims of car crashes. The car plowed through the office on SR-17/92 near Saxon Boulevard in Orange City (see map).

The driver was injured and had to be taken to the hospital.

Diane Browning said she was waiting for her daughter's school bus when she saw a gray sedan sticking out of the wall of the chiropractor's office.

"That's a pretty big hole," Browning said.

The car appeared to have gone airborne before crossing the yard and crashing through the wall of the building. The crashed happened just before children arrived at their bus stop.

"[It] went over the embankment, around the embankment, whatever. That could have been somebody's child," Browning said.

The driver told investigators she might have fallen asleep while driving a friend's car. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but her condition is not known.

The sign outside the doctor's office advertises help for those injured in car accidents. Investigators have not said if a medical condition may have contributed to the crash.

"I don't know how you put a car through a building. It's absolutely amazing," Browning said.

Investigators have not said if the woman will face any charges. Repairs to the doctor's office began Tuesday afternoon and he said he hopes to reopen on Wednesday.
