NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — A controversial private boat club in New Smyrna Beach will continue to rent a valuable piece of public land for just $25 per year.
The city decided not to sell the waterfront property to the Anglers Yacht Club for $800,000. The land is valued at more than $2 million.
The club has been criticized for not accepting women or minorities as members. It will get to keep its $25 per year lease for the next 33 years.
