Deputies: Teen Inmate Escaped From Jail

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Marion County said they are searching for a teenage inmate who escaped from jail for the second time in six weeks. The Sheriff's Office said 17-year-old Yarnell Bagley escaped through a recreation area at the jail at about 11:00pm on Tuesday.

Deputies said they are using K-9 units and helicopters to search around the jail overnight.

Bagley escaped from the juvenile section of the jail last month with another inmate, according to deputies. He was able to pry open one fence and climb two others to escape. He was caught about a week later in Putnam County and was moved to an area for adults.

"Right now we are needing the help of anyone who has seen Yarnell Bagley, or knows where he might be hiding or laying low," said Jenifer Fisher of the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

This time, investigators said he escaped through a recreation area at the adult jail. He was being held on charges of grand theft, auto theft, and burglary.

Deputies said this time, it's not clear exactly how he escaped, but a review of policies here last month meant he was supposed to be very well supervised now.

"Our officials are looking at policies and safety procedures. They're reviewing all of that and investigating who let their guard down or what error occurred to allow him to escape," said Fisher.

Officers said they put Bagely in the adult jail because it would be safer and he'd be more secure.

The Sheriff's Office said he's 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds and was likely wearing red pants and no shirt.

There is a $1,000 reward available for information leading to Bagley's capture.
