FDLE removes computers from Rockledge home in cyber investigation

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. — Investigators with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement served a search warrant at a Rockledge home Wednesday morning.

According to FDLE officials, it was a "cyber" search warrant served at 33-year-old Michael Bennett's home on Patrick Lane.

Channel 9 was there as agents removed several computers from the home.

"We actually responded out there at the request of FDLE," said Donna Setferth with Rockledge police. "They were executing a search warrant and they gave us a courtesy call to let us know that they were out there."

FDLE wouldn't release any details except that the search warrant is part of a cyber investigation. Rockledge police arrseted Bennett on drug charges.

"He was arrested for possession of cannabis over 20 grams as well as possession of paraphernalia," said Seyferth.

Eyewitness news has learned Bennett is employed part time as a digital media lab tech at Eastern Florida State College in Cocoa. Neighbors said they didn't see Bennett much.

"Low key, very low key. He kept to himself," said neighbor Robert Andrews.

FDLE said its investigation is ongoing and wouldn't release further details.
