First Look At Proposed Orlando Thrill Park

ORLANDO, Fla — Local residents got a closer look at the types of rides (see them) that could be coming to a proposed new theme park in Orlando. If built, the park would be located off International Drive in the Tangelo Park Area.

THE RIDES: Images Of Some Rides Proposed For Park

Developers showed residents sketches of 14 rides and roller coasters that would be built at the Orlando Thrill Park. WFTV learned the park would have thriller rides that would include free fall rides, rides that swing, and coasters with sudden acceleration.

Jim Moten has lived in Tangelo Park since 1962, and said park developers recently floated balloons into the air to show residents how high some of the rides would be.

"It had to be higher than the trees, which is pretty high," Moten said.

Developers of the proposed project showed residents who live nearby some images of the theme park, but some residents said they don't want any rides near their home.

"It's going to be noisy. I don't care what kind of coasters are going to be there. You don't have a wall high enough to keep the noise out," Moten said.

Some of the proposed coasters already exist at parks around the country, but some rides have never been seen before.

Last month, the park developers were supposed to show plans for Orlando Thrill Park to the city commission, but developers said they needed more time to get residents on board with the project.
