Florida deputy points gun at pregnant woman who was with 3 children during traffic stop

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — A deputy in North Florida is off the job after he pulled a gun on a pregnant woman during a traffic stop.

It happened in a rural part of Bradford County, which is north of Gainesville.

“You make any movement, that will be your last mistake you’re going to make,” the deputy is heard saying in the video.

The deputy tried to pull Ebony Washington over for speeding.

Washington told the deputy that she didn’t pull over immediately because she was scared of stopping in the dark.

Washington’s three children, including a 1-year-old, watched and recorded the interaction from her SUV.

Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith said that after watching the video, he asked deputy Jason Desue to resign.

“She explains to him that she’s flashing her lights to get to a well-lit area, well that’s what I would’ve wanted my wife to do. That’s what I would want my daughter to do and my neighbor to do if you feel unsafe,” Smith said.

Desue resigned and is off the job as of Monday morning.

The woman was given a ticket for speeding.
