LEESBURG, Fla. — Authorities in Leesburg arrested four suspected bank robbers at a gas station Friday afternoon. The suspects were arrested at a RaceTrac station on HWY-441. The armed suspects, one in camouflage, robbed the tellers at BB&T Bank along US-441, officers said.
A deputy noticed the car matched the description of the getaway car used in a Fruitland Park bank robbery Friday afternoon.
Investigators believe the men may be connected to other recent robberies in the area. In Leesburg, in one month, robbers hit four banks and within one year, ten Dollar Generals have been held up.
During Friday's bank robbery, detectives say, the suspects robbed the tellers and took off. There was at least one customer inside the bank at the time.
