Hotel Worker Accused Of Raping Woman

ORLANDO, Fla.,None — An Orlando hotel worker was arrested on Monday, accused of raping a woman. The woman told WFTV that the worker was caught on video using a master key to get into her room.

Orlando police say 38-year-old Irving Gifford let himself into the woman's room at the Vacation Lodge Hotel on South Orange Blossom Trail on Friday and raped her.

The woman told WFTV that when she woke up, she found Gifford in her bedroom.

“They actually see him on camera going in and out of my room with the master key that they took away from him,” said Deoitre Gibbs.

WFTV has a policy of not identifying rape victims, but Gibbs wanted to come forward and show her face in hopes of keeping others from becoming victims.

Gifford was arrested Monday night and taken to jail. According to the arrest report, Gifford told police, "I've got nothing to say, take me to jail."

Gifford is facing charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling with assault battery and sexual battery. Gifford's bond is set at $5,000.
