KISSIMMEE, Fla.,None — Kissimmee police say they are investigating a murder suicide at an apartment complex.
According to investigators, police responded to the Kensington Apartments around 2:45am Sunday after receiving 911 calls of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police say they found a man and woman deceased from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
Police have identified the couple as 30-year-old Jackie Estremera and 31-year-old Ramon Bartolomey.
Officials told WFTV, Estremera is a mother of five and her children are between the ages of 1 and 13. Three of the children are Bartolomey's kids. Police say the Department of Children and Families has placed all five children with other family members.
According to investigators, Estremera and Bartolomey were a married couple who recently separated. Investigators have determined Estremera was approached by her estranged husband as she returned to her home.
Neighbors heard the couple fighting earlier in the night, and police say that's when they should have called 911.
"The presence of an officer may diffuse the situation," said Stacie Miller, of the Kissimmee Police Department.
WFTV found out Bartolomey was arrested in late 2010 for domestic battery, but it is unclear who the victim was in that case.
