DELAND, Fla. — An overnight house fire left one person dead and two others injured in DeLand.
Firefighters said two people needed to be rescued from the burning home, and another person inside the home was able to escape the blaze.
All three individuals were taken to a hospital, including one victim who was airlifted by medical helicopter.
Two victims suffered burn injuries, and the third died at the hospital.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the home suffered major damage and a roof collapse.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
