ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The crash happened at about 1:20 a.m. when a 2005 Toyota Prius pulled through the intersection on J Lawson Boulevard and was T-boned by a pickup truck driving on Boggy Creek Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The Prius had stopped at a flashing red light before pulling into the intersection and the pickup truck continued through on a flashing yellow light, troopers said.
The driver of the Prius, whose identity had not been determined, was critically injured in the crash, FHP said.
A female passenger, who was also not identified, was killed, troopers said.
The driver of the pickup, Matthew Helmbold, 26, received minor injuries in the crash, FHP said.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
