POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Two men died when their motorcycles crashed in Polk County.
Polk County Sheriff's deputies said Christopher Bowmer, 23, and Johnathan Walker, 25, were riding with a group of motorcyclists Sunday evening when they decided to stop for a break near State Road 60 in Mulberry.
The two men and several others decided to keep riding in the area. According to officials, Bowmer made a U-turn in front of Walker. Walker's Suzuki bike collided with Bowmer's Kawaski motorcycle, which disintegrated on impact.
Deputies said Bowmer landed about 80 feet away and Walker was thrown about 110 feet. Both were declared dead at the scene.
An investigation continues.
