ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two people were killed Friday night in a crash near Winter Garden, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Robert Hughes, 45, of Winter Garden, was driving a 2012 Hyundai Genesis on McKinney Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. when he didn't stop at a stop sign at Avalon Road, said FHP Sgt. Kim Montes.
Hughes crashed into a 2011 Toyota van driven by Javiel Passalacqua-Cruz, 32, of Montverde, Montes said.
Hughes died after his car overturned and struck two trees.
A passenger in the van, Jesus Milan Soto, 26, of Kissimmee, died at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Two other adults and three children in the van each had minor injuries.
