2 moms fist fight outside Orange County elementary school

ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 has obtained video that showed two mothers fist fighting outside of an elementary school in Orange County.

Witnesses told Channel 9 they were shocked when the two women started pulling hair and hitting each other outside Eccelston Elementary School in Orlando on Thursday.

The fight erupted as both women were at the school to pick up their children.

Witness Janay Hall captured the whole thing on video.

"It was crazy. That was crazy," Hall said. "(I) was sitting in the house and heard the commotion happening and I thought, what in the world is all of this?"

The video shows Lerhonda Sanders, the woman in red pants, and Sandra Rivera, arguing in the middle of the street.

Rivera told police the incident started with something involving the women's children. Video showed Rivera take a swing at Sanders, which then erupted in an all-out brawl.

At one point, children were even jumping into it.

"It wasn't called for, especially in front of the school with the kids," said Hall.

Police said the fight could have been a lot of worse after Amy Vannest jumped in and pulled out a knife.

Vannest was charged with aggravated assault while Rivera was charged with battery.

She bonded out of jail shortly before 10 p.m.

Sanders was not charged.

It's the second time in three months Rivera has been involved in an altercation. She was arrested not too long ago in connection to a different incident at the school in which she's accused of attacking a child.

Rivera was accused of grabbing an 11-year-old boy around the neck because she said he was bullying her daughter.

She was charged with kidnapping, because police said she forced the boy into her car and drove him home to tell his mother.

She was also told to stay away from the school, authorities said.
