2-year-old boy airlifted to pediatric trauma center after St. Cloud reported drowning

Child was found in a backyard pool; dispatchers guided family through CPR before first responders arrived

ST CLOUD, Fla. — A 2-year-old boy was airlifted to a pediatric trauma center after he was found in a swimming pool at a home in St. Cloud, according to St. Cloud Fire Rescue.

Crews responded around 7:45 p.m. to Settlers Court, off Old Canoe Creek Road, for a reported drowning.

Officials said the child was discovered in a pool at the residence. While emergency crews were responding, 911 dispatchers provided CPR instructions to family members over the phone.

Fire Rescue paramedics continued lifesaving efforts upon arrival and coordinated with AirCare to transport the child to a pediatric trauma center.

No update on the child’s condition was immediately available.

Following the incident, St. Cloud Fire Rescue urged families to follow the “ABCs” of water safety:

  • A: Adult supervision
  • B: Barriers around pools and other bodies of water
  • C: Swimming classes for children and CPR training for adults

The incident remains under investigation.
