I-4 at Fairbanks reopens following accident

None — An accident shut down westbound traffic on I-4 just east of Fairbanks Ave, Monday morning.

The late morning accident involved two tractor trailers. One of those trucks blocked all lanes of I-4 westbound.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report one of the truck driver's lost control as he entered the Faribanks curve. That truck jacknifed and blocked all of the westbound lanes. The second truck struck a van and a car as they all approached the jacknifed semi.

Shortly before 1 p.m. the truck were moved from the roadway and the interstate reopened.

The driver of the jacknifed semi suffered minor injuries. There were no injuries to the driver of the second truck. No one in the car or van was injured.
