ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County man accused of killing another man at a backyard fish fry was granted bond on Tuesday.

Shomari Howell was shot and killed at a home on West Gore Street in July, deputies said.

Witnesses said Antonio Holmes Jr. showed up at the fish fry and got into an argument with Howell.

One witness told investigators it stemmed from a robbery in April, and that the two had argued before.

Holmes is accused of killing Howell in the front yard and then running away, deputies said.

Holmes turned himself in to investigators days later, and he was charged with first-degree murder and ordered to be held on no bond.

However recently, Holmes’ attorney recently got prosecutors to charge Holmes with second-degree murder with a firearm, and he was granted a $50,000 bail.
