APOPKA, Fla. — An Apopka man said a giant crater in his yard was caused by a broken municipal water line.
Orange grower Stewart Bronson said the busted city water pipe has created a lake in his backyard.
"There is quite a bit of damage. We don't know how much but, you know, it's bad, very, bad," Bronson said.
Bronson said the pipe broke Tuesday but went undetected for hours.

He said water gushed from the pipe overnight, flooding his property.
The damage is so bad that he expects dozens of his orange trees to die.
"We have got quite an investment in those trees and not only have we lost the investment in the trees, the fruit crop, but also what that tree could bring down the road," Bronson said.
Bronson said he doesn't know just how much damage has been done. Apopka officials told Channel 9 that they have fixed the pipe but are still in discussions about who is going to fix the damage and pay for it.
Bronson said it could cost thousands of dollars to repair his land and replace the trees.
