Appointments for Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine fully booked at Central Florida Publix locations; here’s your next chance

Appointments for Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine were available at all Publix locations Wednesday morning.

The pharmacy allowed Floridians to make an appointment online starting at 7 a.m.

In less than an hour, appointments for the vaccine were booked at all Central Florida stores.

Those who made an online appointment Wednesday will receive their dose of the vaccine on Saturday or Sunday.

Here’s who can make an appointment:

  • Long-term care facility residents and staff
  • People aged 60 years and older
  • People deemed extremely vulnerable
  • Health care personnel with direct patient contact
  • K-12 school employees
  • Sworn law enforcement officers aged 50 years and older
  • Firefighters aged 50 years and older

Publix is not allowing residents to make an appointment by phone — they must make an appointment online.

Publix will reopen its appointment portal on Friday. It will allow Floridians to make an appointment for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

The next time appointments for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine will be available at Publix is Wednesday, March 24.
