Beluga whale dies at SeaWorld Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — SeaWorld said one of its beluga whales has died, and it’s waiting on an exam to find out why.

Nanuq was about 32 years old and lived with three other belugas in the park’s Wild Arctic area.

Before he died Thursday, he was being treated for an infection related to a fractured jaw he suffered in some kind of interaction with other whales.

The exam results won’t come back for another six to eight weeks.

Nanuq was on loan to SeaWorld from the Vancouver Aquarium.
