ORLANDO, Fla. — Best Buy plans to open nearly all its U.S. stores at midnight Eastern on Thursday, Nov. 5, for the release of “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” on Nintendo Switch 2.
Customers can pick up preorders during the late-night opening. The retailer says limited quantities of the game, Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 consoles and matching Pro Controllers will also be available for purchase.
Best Buy’s announcement describes the event as a nationwide launch, though customers should confirm participation with their local store.
A rebuilt adventure for Switch 2
Nintendo describes the game as a version of the classic adventure built from the ground up for Switch 2.
The remake features overhauled visuals, voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue and orchestral music. Updated controls include jumping, dashing and modern camera movement, according to Nintendo’s official game listing.
When to arrive
For Central Florida customers, midnight Thursday means arriving late Wednesday night, Nov. 4, ahead of the opening.
Customers who already placed an order should check their pickup instructions. Best Buy says preorder customers will receive an email with the option to switch to store pickup.
Walk-in inventory will be limited. The retailer has not provided quantities for individual Central Florida stores.
Customers can find nearby locations through Best Buy’s store locator.
