WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for a driver who fled after hitting a bicyclist in Seminole County last week.

The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. Sept. 17 on Tuskawilla Road, just south of Windwillow Circle in Winter Springs.

According to FHP, a 29-year-old Winter Garden man was riding north in the bicycle lane when an unknown vehicle traveling in the outside northbound lane struck him.

Troopers said the driver fled after the crash.

The bicyclist was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

FHP has not released a description of the vehicle involved.

The investigation remains ongoing.
