Boil water notice in effect for Casselberry residents

CASSELBERRY, Fla. — A boil water notice is in effect for more than 27,000 Casselberry residents.

The notice impacts residents living north of Red Bug Road and State Road 436.

City officials said an equipment malfunction Thursday morning led to problems maintaining the minimum amount of chlorine required to kill viruses and bacteria.

Boiling the water for at least one minute should be sufficient.

The malfunction has been fixed, but officials said they will keep the notice in effect until Saturday as a precaution.
