Brevard Zoo welcomes third baby sloth in its history

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard Zoo’s newest resident is a tiny Linnaeus’s two-toed baby sloth.

The little one was born under the zoo’s care on April 8 to parents 15-year-old mother Sammy and 18-year-old father Dustin.

Zoo officials said this is the third baby sloth in the zoo’s history and its first in more than two years.

The zoo said the baby has yet to be named or sexed, but will be in and out of public view as it clings tightly to its mother.
