FCC denies SpaceX nearly $1B bid to deliver Starlink internet to rural US

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — Florida’s Space Coast has seen several SpaceX launches for the company’s Starlink mission.

But now the federal government has denied a bid from SpaceX for nearly $1 billion.

The money was supposed to help Starlink create higher-speed internet access to people in rural America.

The Federal Communications Commission said SpaceX has failed to demonstrate that it can deliver that service.
