Titusville trash collection delayed due to Sarno landfill closure

Regular solid waste and bulk waste pickups in Titusville faced delays during the current week

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Titusville residents face delays with regular solid waste and bulk waste pickups on Tuesday after a county landfill reached capacity and temporarily closed.

The temporary closure of the Sarno landfill has forced all solid waste trucks in the county to unload at a facility in Cocoa. The diversion has resulted in significantly longer wait times for trucks delivering waste to the Cocoa site.

Crews in Titusville are continuing to work to finish all scheduled routes, though collections may take place later in the day than normal. Bulk waste pickups are also subject to delays.

City officials instructed residents to leave all solid waste and bulk items at the curb until they are collected. The city released a statement thanking residents for their patience and understanding while crews work through the route delays.
